Sherri Bealkowski, Chair
Sherri Bealkowski retired in 2007 from Microsoft where she was General Manager for Education Solutions in Emerging Markets. In that capacity she was responsible for product innovation for personal learning tools based on the Microsoft platform in new markets around the world.
While at Microsoft beginning in 1997, Bealkowski held a number of positions, including General Manager, Global Accounts Sales for the Americas, Director of Worldwide Sales Business Planning, Chief of Staff for the Worldwide Sales, Marketing and Services Group (SMSG) and General Manager for the Education Solutions Group, leading the US education business for Microsoft and developing worldwide education strategies and programs such as Microsoft Partners in Learning.
Bealkowski brought more than 17 years of experience in the computer industry when she joined Microsoft. She held a variety of management, product development, sales and channel management assignments at IBM Corporation in Boca Raton, Florida and Austin, Texas. She also held sales and marketing positions at IPL Systems, Citrix Systems and Palm Beach Community College. While at IBM, Bealkowski received numerous honors including three Golden Circle Awards, Top Gun at Sales Training, Storage Channel Director’s Award, and Rookie of the Year. Bealkowski was recently inducted into the Georgia Tech Academy of Distinguished Engineering Alumni.
Bealkowski holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Computer Science from Florida Atlantic University. In addition to her service on the AtWork! Board she has a long history of professional and civic participation including the Society of Women Engineers, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Leadership Advancement International, Women@Microsoft, and many programs targeted toward empowering middle and high school girls to excel in math, science and technology. She is frequently called upon to speak at industry conferences.”

Ann has over 20 years experience in the commercial real estate world. She was the Senior Managing Director for the Seattle market with CB Richard Ellis until her departure in Spring 2001 to join Paci ic Real Estate Partners, Inc. Prior to joining CB Richard Ellis, she was the Public Affairs Manager for the aluminum industry, lobbying in Olympia and Washington, D.C.
Ann’s current focus on investment sales is preceded by a distinguished career including industrial leasing and sales; suburban and Class A of ice building leasing and sales; and land sales.

Gentry Dorian Valley is the General Manager of the Costco Wholesale Central Membership Processing Department. His department is responsible for the receipt and financial processing of all inbound renewal transactions for Costco’s U.S. membership base. He is also the manager responsible for all technologies associated with Costco’s Corporate Contact Center. This center annually handles the member service needs associated with 5M+ phone calls and 2M+ emails.
Gentry’s career with Costco Wholesale began in 1994 starting with customer service positions in the Tacoma Washington store before moving into positions within the corporate office. At the corporate office he has served in positions ranging from quality assurance oversight of all imported products to all levels of customer service up to his current position.
Prior to his career at Costco Wholesale, Gentry grew up in a variety of locations along the eastern seaboard graduating high school in South Carolina. He followed that with time at Bob Jones University before serving his country for six years in the U.S. Navy. Naval orders placed him in duty assignments as a nuclear propulsion engineer aboard the aircraft carrier, USS Carl Vinson, and for the Command Master Chief at the Trident Training Facility at Subbase Bangor in Washington State. It was his enlistment in the Navy that brought him west to Washington state in 1990 where he has since remained.
At the age of 38, Gentry is blessed with a beautiful and loving wife, Christine, and is the very proud father of Gabriel, 12, and Dorian, 9. Gentry’s life with his children is anything but “normal” as his son is a highly gifted young man mathematically and his daughter has Down Syndrome. Because of the unique challenges each present, Gentry has been actively involved in the special needs community since the birth of Dorian. Past and current involvements include the Washington State Father’s Network, ARC of King County, National Down Syndrome Society, Riverview School District Education Foundation, Riverview School District Stepping Stone Preschool, and the Washington State Mathematics Championship.

The company has enjoyed an average growth rate of over 10% per year for the last 17 years that Gary Bodenstab has been at the owner and lead executive of the company. The company logs about $25 million in annual sales. This year Johnson Barrow is celebrating its 47thanniversary.
SpaceLease found in 1998, was an Internet Company providing E-brokerage services to the real estate industry. The business had a patented web process that provided leasing services for small to medium size spaces.
Gary Bodenstab holds a Bachelor degree in Engineering from Syracuse University. Garywas with the Trane company as a Sales Engineer for 12 years, was a Top 10 member, and account Executive working with Contractors, Engineers, and Developers. Ellie has worked with fortune 500 organizations for the last 15 years, helping them with organizational design, strategic planning, vision casting, storytelling, and marketing. She is a seasoned HR and Business professional and enjoys public speaking. Ellie currently serves as the HR Business Partner for the VP’s of Windows Mobile Marketing Services for Microsoft supporting approximately 700 employees internationally. She joined Microsoft in November of 2007 after departing from T-Mobile, where she supported the Chief Information Officer as his business partner for all of the US.
Prior to joining T-Mobile in August of 2005, Ellie was with MCI Communications, Inc., for over 12 years (1993-1999 & 2000-2006) in Human Resources in various capacities, including: a staffing associate and regional HR Manager for the Sales & Services & Operations organizations throughout the Western US. Additionally she was the Regional HR Manager for Pitney Bowes Management Services, managing all facets of HR from 1999-2000.
Ellie is a strong, visionary business leader with a deep technical expertise in the communications and software industries. She earned her MBA in 2000 at Azusa Pacific University in California and is presently finishing a MA in Organizational Leadership from the same institution.
Ellie’s great passion is to help release the potential of people. As such she also pursued a credential as an Executive/ Leadership Coach through the Hudson Institute in Santa Barbara California. This is truly where she finds her greatest enjoyment in challenging and supporting people to achieve their full potential.
Ellie's husband of 14 years, Ken, is finishing up his PhD at Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, CA. Together, they have the privilege of raising three wonderful, high energy children: Grant (7), Joshua (5-1/2), and McKayla (4-1/2). In addition to spending quality time with her family, Ellie enjoys singing, art, and photography. She is deeply passionate about making a difference in the world and is excited to put her skills to work to further the mission of At Work to see potential fulfilled and lives changed!
